Watershed Development
The Krushi is working as a facilitating agency for Watershed Development Program in partnership with DWMA since last seven years. So far it has completed twenty two watersheds in twenty five villages supported by GOI. At present the Project under IWDP-Phase II is being implemented in nine watersheds covering six villages in Kathalapur and Chandurthi mandals in Karimnagar district. The cost of the project is Rs. 245.00 lakhs. In this project, the total no of beneficiaries are 418 scheduled castes, 86 scheduled tribes and 3818 other castes. The major achievements of the project are as follows: Besides this one project under IGWDP started in Laxmipur village in current financial year.
  • 63,600 man days created through soil and water conservation works
  • Rs. 111.13 lakhs released to watershed committees from District Water Management Agency for taking up watershed development activities in nine watersheds.

  • 3275.0 hct. Vegetative measures taken up
  • 38 Sunken Gully Pits, 28 Dug Out Ponds constructed
  • Promoted one women dairy cooperative at Rudrangi watershed
  • Developed integration between watershed committees and PRIs and other line departments
  • Focused on productivity enhancement activities like promotion of dairy activity, breed improvement, sheep raring, backyard poultry etc.
