About Us
The background:
Krushi came into existence in the year 1997 with the objective of women empowerment. Gradually Krushi began to reach-out to thousands of disadvantaged families in the Telangana part of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Today Krushi is one of the states largest development organizations. We work in 5 districts of Telangana region, on health, gender and development, micro finance, child rights, watershed development, Housing, education, livelihoods, water and sanitation, agriculture including organic farming, non-pesticide management. We have about 10 donor agencies including local commercial banks and helping over 30,000 women members covering 5 districts together with their families and communities.
Krushi is an NGO registered under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana areas) Public Societies Registration Act 1 of 1350 fasli with Registration No.3304/1997 dated July 11, 1997. It is working in Karimnagar and Nizamabad Districts of Andhra Pradesh. Krushi is moving forward with a clear aim of socio economic empowerment of poor and vulnerable through strengthening CBOs by addressing their needs.
With the avowed aim of moral values, to rebuild our crisis-ridden society, to extend a helping hand to the needy and downtrodden and to provide them with basic structures on which they can base their they can base their efforts for a better future, the KRUSHI, a non governmental organization, was born in 1995. by awakening the society through active participation of people, the KRUSHI has been selflessly endeavouring to promote developmental activities for the well being of people. The motto of the KRUSHI is : for the people, by the people.
KRUSHI has been working tirelessly towards the goal of self-reliance by organising the needy in both urban and rural areas through self help groups and by inculcating in youth the sacred principles of selfless help and mutual co-operation. The youth encouraged to increase its power by stepping up production by utilizing to the maximum the exiting vast wealth of resources. To fulfill the above aims the KRUSHI is moving forward with determination and devotion by bringing together the governmental and nongovernmental agencies, youth and countless oppressed. In this long, fruitful journey the KRUSHI solicits the staunch support, helping hand and selfless co-operation of all those who wish the oppressed and downtrodden well.

Krushi believes and is actively involved in promoting human rights, dignity and gender balance through peoples’ social, economic, political and human capacity building. Although the major emphasis is on the well being of
women and children, sustaining the work of the organization depends on an environment that permits the poor people to break out of the cycle of poverty and helplessness. To end this krushi endeavors to bring about positive changes at the level of stakeholders in poverty reduction and social progress. Krushi is committed to making its programmes socially, financially and environmentally sustainable through good governance and people’s participation. With promotion of self-help groups and micro enterprise development initiatives, it strives to bring about changes in the quality of life of these people. And to create community managed sustainable Micro Finance Institutions under the local cooperative laws that provide efficient services to its members and lead towards augmenting productive occupations, thereby making a significant impact on poverty alleviation.
To achieve our mission we work through community based organizations, government bodies, civil society organizations and other local partners. Work with our partners will be based on mutual respect and understanding.

Krushi in Andhra Pradesh
Krushi-Development organization began its work in Telangana Region, in the year 1997 and is today one of the leading grass root level non-governmental organizations working in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Krushi believes that there can be lasting improvements in a women and children quality of life only when there is holistic approach to all women focused development activities.
Krushi ’s strategy recognizes that women centered development should result in the goals of increased security for women and their families which can be factored in to the dimensions of food security, economic security, health and educational security psycho-social security and ecological security. This is achieved by providing support to civil society organizations in active local partnerships.
This has enabled us to reach out to vulnerable families in remote areas of the Karimnagar district.
Krushi uses, the security framework as its basic inspiration to curatively design programs with community and actively promoted krushi’s principles with in the framework of women empowerment through micro finance.
Krushi now works in four districts of the State of Andhra Pradesh through 3 branches and 9 program units. Structurally Krushi is organized in to three branch offices at Karimnagar, Sircilla and Nizamabad with support and serve the program units.
